Home prices reach new all-time highs in August
The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller home price index rose more than expected in August, hitting an all-time high. National home prices continued to rise in August, reporting a 6.1 percent annual gain on the S&P's most broad indicator. This was better than the 5.8 percent increase expected by economists polled by Reuters. "Home price increases appear to be unstoppable," S&P Dow Jones indexes managing director David Blitzer said, before adding that national "home prices have reached new all-time highs." New study ranks Colorado Springs as nation's top housing market for upcoming home sales
Colorado Springs is the nation's hottest housing market when it comes to homes that are likely to sell - either to newcomers or to owners who are moving up, according to a recent study by a California real estate data company. The Springs ranked No. 1 out of 120 markets in a first-ever Pre-Mover Housing Index compiled by ATTOM Data Solutions, based on first quarter data the company assembled. ATTOM examined homebuyer loan applications in the markets, compared them against each community's supply of homes and developed an index measuring the likelihood of homes being sold in those communities within a 30-day period.
