Stetson Elementary School students and staff honored veterans in their annual Veterans Day Assembly, Nov.10. Retired USAF Brigadier General Ronald L. Huntley was the guest speaker.
“I think it's important for younger children to maybe meet veterans and see how the veterans care themselves, how important it is. How important our service is to us,” said Bryan Moulton, USMC veteran.
“The past five years we've been coming here and it's just it's always a really nice show,” said SES parent and retired USAF Master Sergeant Johnathan Gamer. “It allows the children to kind of see the fact that they're not the only ones going through the hardships that other military families go through. So we really appreciate it and the great job that they do in supporting their veterans and families.”
Fourth-grade students performed patriotic songs for the honorees and students lined the halls after the assembly, to pay tribute by handing out homemade cards to all the veterans in attendance.
