Colorado Springs-area home sales surged again last month, remaining on track for a record year. A total of 1,431 single-family homes were sold in October in the Springs area, up 13 percent over the same time last year, the latest Pikes Peak Association of Realtors' market report said. Foreclosures hit 15-year Low
El Paso County saw fewer foreclosures last year than it has in recent history — a statistic that bodes well for the health of the local economy, but makes the Colorado Springs real estate market a more challenging one for investors. There were 1,287 foreclosure filings in El Paso County in 2016, according to records from the office of Public Trustee Tom Mowle. That number is a 12.4 percent drop from 2015 and is the smallest total number of annual foreclosures seen in El Paso County since 1,165 were filed in 2001. Continue reading ...
Appliance, electronics chain Conn's plans fall opening in Colorado Springs
Texas-based Conn's Inc., an appliance, electronics and furniture chain that caters to consumers with credit problems, plans to open in Colorado Springs this fall. The retailer expects to open as early as October in a former Circuit City store, southeast of Academy Boulevard and Platte Avenue on the Springs' east side, said Mike Poppe, Conn's chief operating officer.
